Spiceworks' Spicies Awards Honor Top Notch IT Talent

IT Professionals and Technology Marketers Recognized for Going Above and Beyond to Help Their Peers in Spiceworks

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Oct 31, 2013) - Yesterday at Spiceworks' SpiceWorld user conference, the company recognized the winners of its sixth annual Spicies Awards. The Spicies honor IT professionals and technology marketers in Spiceworks who are making a difference in the world of IT. More than 4 million IT professionals and 2,300 technology companies use Spiceworks to manage their network, research the latest products and services and connect with one another.

The Spicies Awards honor IT professionals in three different categories -- Hero, Innovator and Champion. Winners were selected by Spiceworks and represent IT professionals who have provided technical advice to their peers and helped advance the Spiceworks network around the globe.

The 2013 IT professional award winners are:

  • George Kanicki has won the Hero award recognizing the IT professional who has helped community members in need by sharing experiences and answering their most pressing questions.
  • Huw Davies has won the Innovator award honoring those who provide valuable product feedback and unique suggestions to Spiceworks that help improve the experience of Spiceworks' network management application and community.
  • Philip Moya is this year's Champion award winner. The award showcases the Spiceworks user who has worked tirelessly to promote the Spiceworks' can-do spirit to fellow IT professionals.

The Spicies Awards also recognize representatives from technology brands who go above and beyond to make Spiceworks a better place for all. The winners were chosen by IT professionals in the network for recognition in three categories -- Advisor, Artist and Guardian.

The 2013 technology partner winners include:

  • Josh Grose of Pertino has been given the Advisor award, which honors the technology partner who serves as a go-to technical resource with the straight-talk and practical insights IT professionals need to do their jobs.
  • Jennifer Sipala of Unitrends has been named this year's Artist award winner. The Artist award recognizes the technology partner who gets creative and engages IT professionals in a way that's refreshing, memorable and authentic -- making them feel more like a person than a prospect.
