Spigit Announces "SpigitFusion™" as Part of Its Highly Anticipated Version 3.1 Launch

The World's Leading Innovation Management Provider Now Offers the Ability to Collaborate on Ideas With an Automated Evaluation Capability

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - January 27, 2011) - Spigit, the leader in collective idea management software, today announced the availability of SpigitFusion™. The release, available to customers now, introduces a robust evaluation workflow and analytics system that allows companies to tap the expertise and authority of individuals within the organization to collaborate on ideas. These individuals may have budget authority, personnel resources, or subject matter expertise that makes them invaluable in the evaluation of a particular idea. In the past, it has been difficult to manually ensure these individuals were contributing to the evaluation of an idea, and with SpigitFusion™, that process is now automated. SpigitFusion™ improves the quality of decision-making around ideas by incorporating a powerful back-end process engine that captures a number of different evaluation input types including text forms, scorecards, and reviews.

"Spigit's new release provides us with a great set of tools to evaluate ideas from conception to project implementation," says Patrick Byrne, Chairman and CEO of Overstock.com. "We are taking crowdsourcing to the next level and going deeper into the idea evaluation process. By using idea-specific review/evaluation templates, self-serve reporting, and Outlook task syncing capabilities, we are performing a comprehensive assessment of ideas captured within our site."

Required evaluation contributions may be assigned to individuals as management tasks. Through the use of assignee due dates, reminder emails and calendar integration capabilities with Outlook and Lotus Notes, users gain a comprehensive ability to manage ideas effectively through the organizational ecosystem. Advancement in the innovation lifecycle is dependent upon the completion of specified tasks, creating a unique path forward for each idea. The assignment and tracking of evaluation tasks captures the important elements needed to augment an organization's innovation process and ensures that the right ideas are executed upon.

"We are very excited to have additional tools to include in our innovation process," says Leonard Rhone, Idea Manager for AAA. With Spigit's adaptive idea evaluation workflow and analytics, we have the potential to better track and monitor each idea's progress through the system. The increased visibility of an idea's status reinforces our commitment to our employee community that their ideas are being seen and explored by the appropriate development groups."

In addition to Spigit's advanced evaluation workflow and analytics capabilities, the new release includes other new features as well. Spigit V3.1 now offers an external SSO user accessibility to eliminate the need for multiple site login credentials from other social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Yahoo! Also in this release is a new ad-hoc reporting capability enabling site administrators to create custom community data reports on the fly using Jaspersoft, a leading reporting engine embedded in the Spigit platform. This dynamic self-serve reporting feature allows for report creation on virtually any data points that are captured within the innovation community.

"With the largest and rapidly growing customer base using Spigit to power their innovation initiatives, we are excited to provide our customers with more functionality aimed at effectively managing the life cycle of ideas," says Paul Pluschkell, Co-founder and CEO of Spigit. "Our latest release fuses together our award-winning crowdsourcing technology with established back-end business processes of our client base. We have combined the power of crowdsourcing with subject matter expertise to optimize the innovation process for the social enterprise."
