Spikes Security and Osterman Research Publish First-Ever Report on Use of Isolation Technology to Prevent Web-Based Malware Attacks

Research Shows High Interest in Innovative Technology That Eliminates Web Malware

LOS GATOS, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 5, 2016) - Spikes Security™, the isolation security company, today announced the availability of the industry's first-ever research that documents the increasing role of isolation technology as a defense against Web-based malware.

The Osterman Research report was conducted with security professionals from nearly 150 organizations across the US, to determine their perceptions and plans to implement isolation technology. The mean number of employees at each organization was more than 16,000 and survey respondents came from a wide variety of industries. Decision makers had to have authority in making or influencing the type of security technologies used by their respective organizations in order to participate in the survey.

"Web browsers are strategically vital tools for information workers to access productivity applications, work files, social media and a host of business-critical tools," said Michael Osterman, Principal Analyst, Osterman Research. "Our study shows that for 60 percent of all organizations, Web browsers are critical for business operations. For one business out of ten browsers are the most important application used."
