Sport Chek Launches Get Into Gear Giveaway Contest

2007 Subaru Forester-Sport Chek Gear-European Vacation-Weekly Prizes

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - May 7, 2007) - Sport Chek, a corporate banner of The Forzani Group Ltd. (TSX:FGL), Canada's largest retailer of sporting goods announced the launch of their biggest contest to date, the "Get into Gear Giveaway" with a Grand Prize package including a 2007 Subaru Forester and $2,000 in Sport Chek gear.

This innovative contest from Sport Chek gives consumers the chance to win a total of over $32,000 in Grand Prizes. A fully integrated promotion developed with SDMG, the contest will be promoted on television, newspapers, online and other Sport Chek's properties. The contest ends June 30. There is a viral component of the "Get Into Gear Giveaway" contest for entrants to invite friend(s) and automatically be entered for the "Contiki Holidays" contest, an 11-day European Vacation for two worth approximately $7,000 plus be eligible for a chance to win $2,000 in weekly prizes. Each invitation sent by the entrant to a friend provides the entrant with a bonus entry into the Contiki contest. In addition, each week during the eight-week contest, registrants will receive a weekly email pointing registrants to the contest microsite that involves its audience with amusing poems about the Subaru's quest for the right owner that includes animated blasts of the Subaru, outdoor lifestyle and sport scene images that help to transport the audience member into feeling like he or she could be the owner.

In addition to the contest being supported via on-air spots on TSN, Sun Media advertisements and in-store Sport Chek TV and flyers, contest invitations will be sent in collaboration with Sport Chek's partners; AIRMILES, Student Price Card, and Contiki Holidays.

Entries can be made online once every 24 hours. Up to eight (8) entries allowed per person. Winner must correctly answer a skill testing question. Contest is open to all residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) 16 years of age or older in possession of a valid driver's license and insurance policy. If you (i) successfully enter the Sport Chek Get Into Gear Giveaway Contest, and (ii) you forward the Get Into Gear Giveaway contest invitation to one friend or more, you will be automatically entered in the Contiki Holiday Contest once for each time the invitation is forwarded to a new friend. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. NOTE: you must be 18 -35 years old at the time of entry to be eligible to win the European Vacation Grand Prize which has an approximate retail value of $5,670 - $7,000.
