Sporting Index Offering Over 500 Markets on FA Cup Final

Spread Betting Firm Launch Unprecedented Number of Markets on Manchester City v Stoke City Final

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - May 13, 2011) - It will be a tale of two cities at Wembley tomorrow when Manchester City meet Stoke City in the FA Cup final. The UK's leading sports spread betting company Sporting Index are offering a record-breaking 500 markets on the game – 250 of which will be available in-play.

The firm make Manchester City the favourites with a supremacy spread of 0.7-0.9 goals, meaning that punters can either buy (bet higher) or sell (bet lower) the prediction. There are forecast to be 2.4-2.6 goals and there is a spread of 42-46 bookings points (10 points awarded for a yellow card and 25 for a red).

In addition to the general markets, the Sporting Index traders have come up with a whole host of special spread bets. "Dodgy Keepers" is a prediction on the total number of times goalkeepers punch the ball and the spread is 2.3-2.6. "Generation Game" is the aggregate age of all the goal scorers in the match with a prediction of 63-66. One of the more unusual markets is "Spitting Image", which predicts how many times a player is caught spitting on camera. The spread is set at 7-8.5.

Two of the last six FA Cup finals have gone to penalties and Sporting Index have also priced up a number of penalty shootout markets. Punters can bet on which side will win on penalties and whether each individual penalty is scored, missed or saved.

"Credit must go to our traders for offering so many markets on a single football match," comments Wayne Lincoln, Sporting Index spokesman. "The fact that our customers can bet on 500 markets on the FA Cup final, as well as 250 in-play, is extraordinary and we look forward to what we hope will be a frenetic Saturday's trading on the big match."
