SpotMixer's New Mobile Video Sharing App Is Updated for Easier Sharing and Improved Video Management

Recently Announced vlix Mobile App Removes Frustrations of Video Sharing With End-to-End Solution for Editing, Sharing and Viewing Video

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) - There's a fun, free and easy new way for consumers to unlock all of the video piling up in their iPhones and mobile devices: vlix, a new video creation and sharing app from SpotMixer, the maker of leading online consumer video creation service One True Media. A free iTunes app announced in April, vlix has taken off with consumers who want an easy way to edit, share and view personal video on their mobile devices. With the newest vlix update, the service offers more ways for users to expand their vlix network of friends and family on Facebook, the addition of a new "photocopy" video effect, as well as improvements to the video playback and video management on their mobile device.

"vlix resonates with consumers who are embracing the idea that shooting and sharing video is no longer only a 'special occasion' phenomenon, but has transitioned to an everyday way to share our experiences," said John Love, CEO of SpotMixer. "Smartphones are quickly becoming the default way to capture video; vlix makes it easy to dress it up and share it with a few people or many."

To make mobile video "share-worthy," vlix provides a powerful and innovative set of editing tools to polish and enhance a user's video with video effects and text. Next, vlix solves the hurdle of sharing mobile video by simplifying the process with a "personal video feed" so users can choose those with whom they wish to share. vlix also now supports sharing via email or by posting to Facebook or YouTube.

After just the first month of availability, consumers are demonstrating that they love taking advantage of the app's editing/effect capabilities, with 93% of app users applying an effect to their videos and 60% adding text. The reverse-motion effect is currently the most-used effect, appearing in 24% of all shared video creations. A wide range of videos are being shared -- from kids' funny video creations and parents sharing family videos to videos used as blog updates and more.

The new version of vlix, now available as a free app in the iTunes App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id411787008?mt=8), makes it even easier for consumers to find and invite friends to their vlix network. In addition, the new update includes technical enhancements that improve the horizontal video playback and video management capabilities on the user's mobile device. The photocopy effect, which adds a film negative type of look, is another way consumers can add visual interest to their videos.
