SPUD Wants to Help Kids in Need Get a Healthy Start Back to School

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - September 03, 2013) - Sustainable Produce Urban Delivery (SPUD.ca), an online grocery delivery service, is pleased to announce that it will launch its first Back to School program where they will raise funds for a local charity -- Brown Bagging For Calgary's Kids.

For deliveries September 1-15, 2013 -- SPUD will be donating $5 for each customer that places an order of $70 or more, with all the proceeds going directly to Brown Bagging For Calgary's Kids.

Back to School for SPUD is more than just selling apples, it's an opportunity to give kids the nourishment they need for their best chance of success. "Our goal is to raise over $5,000 to help improve the quality of life and nutrition for as many kids as possible", says Peter Van Stolk, CEO, SPUD.ca.

"We know our customers believe in supporting their local communities and this seemed like the perfect fit", says Van Stolk. "There are a lot of children in our communities who start their school day without breakfast or go to school without a healthy lunch to eat; we wanted to help change that and get our customers involved too."
