St. Bernard Announces iPrism Secure Web Gateway Appliance 6.4 for Enhanced Total Cost of Ownership

Latest Release Delivers Platform for Industry's First Hybrid Remote Filtering Technology

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - November 2, 2009) - St. Bernard Software, Inc. (OTCBB: SBSW), a leader in Web security appliances, today announced the availability of iPrism 6.4, which boasts a newly designed Web-based user interface and exclusive features including video tutorials integrated directly into the product. With this release, St. Bernard also introduces the platform for its upcoming hybrid remote filtering technology, the first solution of its kind. These new enhancements provide customers with an even more robust and streamlined Secure Web Gateway solution, allowing them to recognize greater business value associated with lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

iPrism 6.4 features a streamlined user interface that intelligently optimizes workflow and usability for a truly enhanced out of box experience that amplifies ease of use and decreases ongoing administrative time. Intuitively designed with the needs of the customer in mind, administrators easily transition from the shipping box to successful installation and deployment in minutes. The simplicity of iPrism translates into less IT administration and resources, resulting in a lower TCO across the entire organization.

An industry first, iPrism's exclusive video tutorials directly integrate into the product for increased user efficiency and accelerated management comprehension. Through these brief, interactive modules, users can proactively educate themselves on the various features and functionality options available within the solution. With this expert guidance at their fingertips, customers are empowered to create, manage and enforce Web usage policies with dramatically reduced administrative effort and maintenance.

"St. Bernard's iPrism Secure Web Gateway 6.4 is a very nice enhancement to the company's Web security capabilities," said Michael Osterman, president of Osterman Research, Inc. "The company's focus on low cost of ownership is carried through in this release, and the video tutorials are a nice feature for those learning the gateway or who might need a refresher on specific capabilities from time to time."

"We've been a highly satisfied customer of iPrism for years, but this latest version has made us even bigger fans," said John Leonowich, director of technology services at Mannington Mills. "The new GUI is awesome. It's clean, modern, and highly intuitive. The workflow-based interface brings everything together in a "one stop shop," which allows for much greater efficiency in managing Web filtering tasks." Leonowich continued, "I was also impressed with iPrism's new integrated video trainings. Not only are they extremely slick and well produced, but the content provided is short, sweet, and right to the point. It's extremely helpful to just click on a video link and get immediate guidance on a specific area of the iPrism without having to dig around in a manual or utilize other resources. These new features really serve to make an IT administrator's life easier."

Additionally, iPrism's new platform provides enterprise-grade mixed network support across all major operating systems including Windows 7, Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Citrix, without requiring major changes or restructuring to an end-user's network. iPrism also supports WCCP2 and Active Directory 2008 authentication using NTLMv2 and Kerberos, making iPrism an even more powerful and flexible Internet filtering solution for customers.

Enhanced Hybrid Platform For Remote Filtering

With the release of iPrism 6.4, St. Bernard also builds upon its proprietary hybrid platform to introduce its upcoming remote filtering solution. This hybrid platform incorporates the iPrism appliance, St. Bernard's Data Center service, and iPrism Remote Filtering Client (for both Windows and Mac). Unique in the marketplace, iPrism Remote Filtering will deliver powerful Web security to remote and mobile employees without requiring any changes to the corporate network or the use of a VPN or DMZ server, making deployment simple and seamless. By eliminating the need to VPN or access a server in the DMZ, corporate bandwidth is untouched, and zero latency is introduced. With iPrism Remote Filtering, comprehensive Internet security is delivered to any off-premises users while providing cohesive and accurate policy enforcement across all employees, regardless of location.

Benefits of iPrism Remote Filtering include:

-- Reduced TCO - by minimizing remote user downtime, IT spends less time
on troubleshooting and damage control, and is more effectively utilized
across other critical projects. This also reduces administrative overhead
associated with identifying and repairing compromised laptops, ultimately
    resulting in noticeable cost savings
-- No enterprise bandwidth required - allows for proactive management and
preservation of bandwidth for maximum uptime and performance
-- Consistent Web surfing experience - no added latency and a more
positive Web surfing experience for users regardless of location
-- Integrated management reporting capabilities - iPrism provides a
single source for managing all users whether on or off-premises with a
    unified iPrism management console
-- Reduced security vulnerability - protects remote users from Internet-
based threats as well as inappropriate content, mitigates risks associated
with mobile platforms re-connecting to the network

"We believe the latest iteration of iPrism is going to offer substantial benefit to the mid-market customer," said Steve Yin, executive vice president worldwide sales, marketing and services at St. Bernard. "The product's new technical capabilities reinforce iPrism's position as a unique player in the market, demonstrating the lowest overall TCO in the industry. Our customers have confirmed that TCO is a critical measure within their organization, that has gone widely under acknowledged and represented amongst key industry thought leaders. We recognize the reality experienced by today's IT professionals including increased turnover, lack of budget, fewer resources, and multiple responsibilities. As a customer-driven company, we are committed to solving these pain points with a solution that is proven to deliver value, simplicity and performance.

iPrism Web Filter 6.4 is available now. Existing iPrism Web Filter customers can upgrade at no cost. Pricing for all iPrism solutions includes a one-time hardware cost and a one-, two- or three-year subscription fee based on the number of users.
