St. Bernard Introduces New Hardware and Software to Meet Demands of Large Businesses

New iPrism M11000 Web Filtering Appliance Provides 80% Performance Increase Plus Sophisticated User Management and Delegated Administration

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - September 11, 2007) - St. Bernard Software, Inc. (OTCBB: SBSW), a global provider of security appliances and on-demand solutions, including secure content management, archiving and collaboration, today announced the availability of its newest dedicated Web filtering appliance, the iPrism M11000. The M11000 features significant performance increases that allow iPrism to meet the demands of large and mid-size enterprises.

In addition, St. Bernard announced the availability of a major software upgrade, version 5.0, for all iPrism appliances. Version 5.0 includes many new features that improve filtering accuracy and make the appliances easier to administrate. For example, the new Safe Search feature ensures that inappropriate Web content cannot be viewed in thumbnails generated by Google search engine results, while Delegated Administration allows larger organizations to separate policy-setting responsibility (by the HR or Legal department), from technical administration by the IT department.

Designed for companies, schools, and government agencies with large and demanding Web use, the iPrism M11000 is a high-powered appliance that provides 80% performance improvement over the existing iPrism M3100 appliance. This capacity increase reduces the need for customers to cluster multiple appliances, which provides easier administration and reduced time spent on maintenance.

"All of our customers have indicated that the use of HTTP, IM and P2P on their networks is increasing, and that they need both the control that iPrism provides and the higher capacity that our new model provides," said Andrew Lochart, vice president of marketing at St. Bernard. "To support this requirement, St. Bernard is introducing new, high-end appliances that are specifically designed for speed while upgrading our software to provide features that large organizations need, such as delegated administration."

Maintaining its reputation for ease of use and maintenance, the iPrism M11000 is simple to configure and is quickly deployed in any network configuration. Following its predecessors, the iPrism M11000 appliances allow organizations of any size to enforce acceptable use policies, as well as provide protection from security, regulatory, productivity, and network performance risks that can result from inappropriate use of Web, IM and P2P.

"iPrism is so easy to use that we were able to setup and deploy Web filtering in minutes," said Ken Balliger, Director of Technology at Murrieta Unified School District. "It's accurate, so we don't worry about our people accessing Websites they shouldn't. Version 5.0's ability to assign group policies to a handful of administrators lets us set and manage Web access policies at the right places in our organization."

Key features in iPrism 5.0 include:

-- Delegated administration
Deploying delegated administration, central IT administrators can set
global internet access policies while remote administrators can adapt
policies to reflect their local environment and acceptable use policy.
Delegated reporting capabilities allow local administrators to focus
on their respective groups, divisions or other discrete networks.
-- Full LDAP authentication
Provides the same level of authentication support for our Novell
environment users as already offered to Windows/NTLM.
-- Enhanced reporting and authentication of IM and P2P users
Expanding upon iPrism's best-in-class reporting, Version 5.0 offers
faster maintenance cycles, and the ability to drill down and schedule
reports that track usage for all IM and P2P individual users.
-- Remote filtering
Laptop users can proxy into the company iPrism and have the same degree
of protection from offensive and malicious material.
-- Blocking anonymous proxies
iPrism 5.0 can identify Web based proxies and rate them as Anonymizer.
    This includes PHP Proxy (unencrypted); UltraReach (web-based);
CGIProxy - HTTP/FTP proxy in a perl based CGI script (unencrypted)
    including CGI-redirects.
-- Automatic submission of unrated URLs for rapid classification
Unrated sites are now automatically submitted to St. Bernard's iGuard
    team for priority review.

In addition to the above, customers also benefit from iPrism's exclusive iGuard® database. The 100% human-reviewed iGuard database is extremely accurate, with millions of URLs within 80 categories allowing easy customization to fit any organization's acceptable use policy.
