St. Bernard's Red Condor Version 7.3 Enhances Message Integrity for the Mid-Enterprise

Latest Release Significantly Enhances System Administration With New Features, Including Message Disclaimer and Retention of Legitimate Email

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - December 9, 2010) - St. Bernard Software, Inc. (OTCBB: SBSW), a leader in Secure Content Management (SCM) solutions, today announced the release of Red Condor Version 7.3. The latest software update, which powers the company's anti-spam hosted service and family of Message Assurance Gateway (MAG) appliances, provides administrators with new features that address the email security needs of the mid-enterprise through enhanced message handling and improved management of end users. The new version is automatically deployed to all customers using Red Condor's hosted service and managed appliances.

"Email is still one of the most important business tools for companies today, which means security must be a priority," said Mary Mizrahi, Red Condor product manager at St. Bernard. "Release 7.3 builds on the same quality and ease-of-use of our existing technology, and adds enhanced security, performance and message handling needed to more efficiently and effectively protect against today's sophisticated spam campaigns, phishing attacks and email-based viruses. New features such as Admin Quarantine, Message Disclaimer, and end user controls empower administrators with greater control of message handling, and ultimately increase productivity and flexibility for all users. This release is an example of our ongoing efforts to deliver superior product performance and customer satisfaction."

"As a Managed Service Provider I am only as good as the products that I implement for my clients and resellers," said Roy Miehe, CEO and President of MspPortal.net. "We manage over 3000 clients and over 1,000,000 seats of Antivirus/AntiSpam, so we rely on Red Condor for the best in email security. What's particularly great about the latest version is the full feature granularity on each and every mailbox including outbound. This is almost like having an appliance at your fingertips. Red Condor has made my life so much easier to better assist and protect my clients."

New features in Version 7.3 include:

  • Message disclaimer -- Outbound email can now contain an annotation at the beginning or end of the message. The annotation can be in plain text or html and is configured per Outbound IP. Individual senders can be exempted from the insertion of the disclaimer. This no-cost solution eliminates the need to purchase a mail server add-on and can be used as additional protection.

  • Storage of legitimate email -- Delivered mail can now be stored on the system for the same amount of time as quarantined mail. If a user accidentally deletes a message from the mail server, the administrator can release the message from the system to the user. The administrator can only view message headers, not the contents of the message. This feature can be enabled for both incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Admin quarantine -- Administrators can choose to keep messages set to BLOCK in a system quarantine that is only accessible to administrators, or to continue having messages deleted. This feature allows the administrator to keep messages, such as those categorized as Adult, out of the end user's quarantine, but with the option to release them to the user in case they are needed. This improves productivity by lessening end-user access to harmful or offensive quarantined email.

  • Deferred queue -- This new report lists all the messages in the deferred queue and allows the user to view them. This report offers better visibility into email stuck in the outbound queue enabling administrators to quickly and easily assess volume and types of email to resolve situations that can slow delivery of legitimate email. In addition, there is a system-wide report that provides summary information about deferred messages for both incoming and outgoing mail.
