GENEVA, SWITZERLAND--(Marketwire - October 13, 2009) -

ST-Ericsson, a world leader in wireless platforms and semiconductors, today announced the extension of its cooperation with Hojy Wireless, a leading provider of EDGE and TD-SCDMA data solutions, to bring high-speed mobility to the Chinese computing market. Hojy has chosen the industry's first 65-nm TD-HSPA modem from ST-Ericsson's Chinese subsidiary T3G, the M6718, to develop the next generation of high-speed mobile broadband modules to power data cards, USB dongles, notebooks and smartphones in China.

"Hojy is one of the leading suppliers of wireless data cards and module products. Thanks to our next generation of TD-SCDMA solutions, consumers in China will soon enjoy high-speed mobile broadband making the internet experience truly mobile," said Pascal Langlois, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at ST-Ericsson.

"With their commitment to R&D, expertise in China-specific solutions and the wide range of global platform solutions, we are able to meet our customers' needs and respond to the fast-moving markets."

ST-Ericsson has a long standing cooperation with Hojy. Among the enabled end products are the DELL Inspiron Mini 10 netbook and the T920 USB data card from Alcatel Shanghai Bell, which were both launched earlier this year.

Hojy modules based on the M6718 will be available in Q1 2010.
