St. John Health System to Collaborate With Sg2 for Long-Term Strategic Planning Initiative

Delivery of Expert Strategic Guidance, Analytics and Education to Support Growth, Operational and Resource Decisions

SKOKIE, IL--(Marketwire - Jun 28, 2011) - Sg2, a health care intelligence and information services company, today announced an agreement with St. John Health System, located in Tulsa, OK, to develop a 5-year strategic plan. The agreement also includes a multiyear contract for the Sg2 EDGE Growth Planning System and the Sg2 INSIGHT Clinical Performance Management System to support the strategic assessment, execution and tracking of this effort. Sg2 will provide St. John Health System with customized advisory services focused on education, analytics and intelligence.

St. John Health System, which includes a 575-bed tertiary care facility, 2 community hospitals and 1 critical access hospital in the Tulsa area, and Jane Phillips Health Corp., based in Bartlesville, aims to fully leverage its resources, ultimately creating a shared vision of fully integrated care across all campuses. In today's uncertain economy, the health system also wants to identify and prioritize future market growth and investment opportunities relative to emerging trends in order to best serve its constituents.

In addition to growth planning, Sg2 will offer consulting services and its 10-year Impact of Change® demand forecast, which projects inpatient and outpatient volumes by MS-DRG, disease-based Sg2 CARE Families, patient type and local service area. By integrating its patient-level data with Sg2 proprietary impact factors, St. John Health System will develop a complete picture of its future demand, revealing growth initiatives with a long-term strategic advantage.

Sustained competitive differentiation will hinge on St. John Health System's ability to integrate patient information, clinical decisions and care coordination across the System of CARE. Sg2's INSIGHT tools will support this goal with proprietary metrics, indices and benchmarks -- all necessary in identifying integration and improved value delivery opportunities. These qualitative and quantitative analyses will serve as the foundation for informed decision making for both short- and long-term goals.

Through delivery of strategic counsel, education, analytics and intelligence, this multiyear engagement will ultimately equip St. John Health System with specific recommendations and know-how to enhance and expedite specific elements of its existing strategic plan. It will also produce a clear, consensus-driven clinical program vision for each hospital campus and a set of actionable strategies that will drive growth, value and integration across the system.
