St Pancras Restaurant Launches Beer & Bites Menu

Helming the Food-Pairing Trend, St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel Raises Its Glass to Custom Brews and Expert Pairings

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Oct 2, 2013) - Proving once again the hotel can merge the elegance of the past with the customs of today, the St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel recently announced a new Beer & Bites menu, where curated brews find happy companions in inventive cuisine. And because St Pancras is one property where nothing is ever done only halfway, tipplers are in for an unexpected treat: The menu features the hotel's very own St Pancras Beer.

While the presence of beer sommeliers and food-and-beer pairings has enjoyed extensive success in the United States, it is still in its infancy in the United Kingdom, especially among luxury London hotels. But restaurants in King's Cross are in for a culinary revolution with St Pancras at the forefront of it all.

Designed by Marverine Cole, one of the United Kingdom's leading beer sommeliers, St Pancras' new Beer & Bites menu has been carefully crafted to highlight the particular virtues of each featured brew. The refreshing flavours of the St Pancras Beer, for example, are best highlighted by salmon croquettes with homemade dressing, whilst haggis bon bons with pickled lemon mayonnaise pick up the dark chocolate and coffee notes of the Meantime Stout. There's even a nonalcoholic root beer and, in a surprise nod to the versatility of the drink, a St Pancras Beer Mojito on the menu.

As with most things affiliated with this hotel near Euston Station, its on-trend offering enjoys historical underpinnings. Specifically, the St Pancras Station's undercroft was built to the proportions necessary for storing beer, since that was its original purpose. Today, the area houses cafes and shops, and the beer is brewed exclusively for the hotel by Oldershaw Brewery.

Guests can experience this growing trend -- and the latest St Pancras hotel deal -- at the hotel's Booking Office Bar. The merging of past and present has never tasted better.

About St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel
At the five-star St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel, visitors have come to expect a certain excellence in every aspect of their stay. Whether they arrive by Eurostar, Underground, train or car (the hotel is directly connected to St Pancras International Station), guests encounter only the best once they set foot inside the hotel. Dining, for example, celebrates English cuisine in all its forms, from the inventive plates created by Marcus Wareing, to resurrected Victorian recipes for cocktails. Guestrooms come in all shapes and sizes -- including Victorian suites with high ceilings and tall windows -- and are outfitted with amenities like flat-screen televisions, luxury bedding and, in some instances, butler service. The hotel also offers a full-service spa alongside an Express branch of the Gentlemen's Tonic, a unique establishment devoted to male grooming. A Victorian tiled pool and spa, a fitness centre and nine meeting rooms offering 12,034 sq. ft. of beautiful and versatile event space surprise and delight guests at every turn. Punctuating each experience, of course, is the stunning architecture, which dates back to the Victorian architect Sir George Gilbert Scott. Spires stretch into the sky, walls whisper of past glories and the famous grand staircase presides over it all, creating an atmosphere that is romantic as it is luxurious.
