St. Petersburg Dentist Walking Example of Power of Short-Term Orthodontics

ST. PETERSBURG, FL--(Marketwired - August 28, 2015) - Dr. Jeff A. Spilman, a St. Petersburg family dentist, wants his patients to know he is undergoing orthodontic treatment to correct his misaligned teeth.
Dr. Spilman, who turned 50 years old this month, recently had braces placed on his bottom and upper teeth to correct crowding issues. The treatment is expected to last about nine months.
“My patients want to know all about my new braces, and it’s a great opportunity for me to explain the process and describe how I expect the braces to change my smile,” Dr. Spilman said. “At the end of the treatment, I will have straight, beautiful teeth and expect to improve my overall oral health.”
In addition to having braces himself, Dr. Spilman recently completed training for the short-term orthodontic treatment Six Month Smiles. The treatment works so quickly because it focuses on the teeth in the mouth that need to be aligned. Six Month Smiles braces require less treatment time and are a fraction of the cost of traditional braces.
Dr. Spilman said Six Month Smiles is an ideal treatment for patients who have had traditional braces but saw their teeth shift over time. He added that he hopes his experience with braces will inspire other patients his age and older to correct their crooked teeth.
“A lot of patients assume that braces are only for children,” Dr. Spilman said. “That’s a great time to fix bite and alignment issues, but braces can help patients of all ages fix their smile.”
Dr. Spilman’s practice, 4899 5th Ave. N., provides St. Petersburg dental care in general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, same-day emergency care and even root canals. He practices in a modern, stand-alone building in a residential neighborhood.
Dr. Spilman has transformed countless smiles using state-of-the-art, safe cosmetic dentistry solutions.
