St-Valentine's Day: Seal Your Letters With a Kiss!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 22, 2006) - Until February 14, Saint-Valentin Postmaster will again cancel thousands of greeting cards, love letters and warm wishes with a postmark specially designed for the occasion... an original way of saying "I love you!".

In 2005, more than 6 700 greeting cards were cancelled by the post office of Saint-Valentin, a charming municipality of 550 residents along the Richelieu River. The cards received not only come from the four corners of Quebec and other provinces but also from abroad. Each year, cards are mailed back to loved ones all over the world to such places as the United States, France, Japan, Germany...It just shows that love knows no barriers!

Here is what you do to send your Valentine's Day wishes to a loved one: you correctly address your greeting card and affix the appropriate postage. You then place your greeting card in a larger envelope, again with the correct postage that you send to the following address:

DON'T WASTE ANY TIME! For any destination within the province, allow at least six working days for your card to reach Saint-Valentin, be cancelled with the special postmark and reach your loved one by February 14. Allow eight working days for a destination in another province. HAPPY ST-VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
