Stafford Hospital Center Implements Emergency Department Information System From Patient Care Technology Systems

ED Information System Implementation Expands to New Facility

CHARLOTTE, NC and STAFFORD, VA--(Marketwire - March 5, 2009) - Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS), a subsidiary of Consulier Engineering, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSLR), today announced that Stafford Hospital Center in Stafford, Virginia has successfully implemented the Amelior ED® emergency department documentation system as part of the launch of this new hospital, part of the MediCorp Health System. The Amelior ED system has been in use at MediCorp's flagship facility, Mary Washington Hospital, since 2002.

The Amelior ED system provides triage-to-disposition workflow visibility and automation support through its integration of computer-based modules for patient and asset tracking, nurse and physician charting, computerized provider order entry, clinical decision support, prescription writing, disposition management and reporting. The system organizes all information for a patient's emergency department visit, including laboratory and radiology orders and results, within a single electronic medical record.

Mary Washington Hospital has used the Amelior ED system to manage patient flow and document care in its emergency department since 2002. During this time the department has seen significant growth in patient visits. In 2008, Mary Washington Hospital treated more than 107,000 emergency department patient visits making it one of the busiest in the nation. In its initial year after deploying Amelior ED, emergency department expenses for transcription services were reduced by over half a million dollars as a result of more than a 90% decrease in dictation usage. Paper costs were reduced by another $60,000.

Amelior ED is the only EDIS with the option of a native automatic patient and asset tracking module. Using an interface to a hospital's choice of real-time location system, caregivers are continuously updated on the location and care status of their patients and movable medical equipment without requiring manual data entry. PCTS tracking and documentation solutions are compatible with infrared, radio frequency and ultrasonic locating technologies. PCTS is currently implementing an ultrasonic locating system in Mary Washington's emergency department.
