LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - January 5, 2010) - Stamps.com® (NASDAQ : STMP ), the leading
provider of USPS® postage online and shipping software to
approximately 400,000 customers, today announced that its PC Postage®
solution was automatically updated to calculate and print postage for the
new USPS shipping rates that went into effect on January 4, 2010. All
customers that log into the Stamps.com service receive a rate update
instantly and free of charge. In addition, the new USPS rates lower the
price of some of the most common services including Flat-Rate Envelopes™
and Priority Mail™ to zones Local, 1 and 2.
Additionally, Stamps.com offers its Professional Shipper service free of
charge to high volume shippers who send over $1,500 worth of USPS postage
each month, and all of its customers receive postage discounts on Priority
Mail, Express Mail and International Postage not available at the Post
Office.
Stamps.com's PC Postage is a software-based service that allows customers
to use their current PCs and printers to calculate and print valid U.S.
postage for letters, packages and international mail, eliminating the need
to go to the Post Office. Additional business benefits include the ability
to track postage spending, eliminate overhead resulting from wasteful trips
to the Post Office, verify shipment accuracy, receive recommendations on
optimal delivery methods, and more. Businesses ranging from small
start-ups to large, multi-location enterprises can manage all of their
mailing and shipping operations more efficiently, reliably and securely
than with any other method, including postage meters.
