"Stand On A Better World" Awards Seek Women Who "Do The Right Thing"

Tennis Legend Billie Jean King, "20/20" Correspondent Deborah Roberts Among Awards Judges

SALEM, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 3, 2007 -- Mannington Mills, a leading manufacturer of fine flooring, has announced the call for nominations for the 2007 "Stand On A Better World" Awards, which celebrate women who "do the right thing" to make a difference in the lives of people and communities locally as well as globally.

Tennis great Billie Jean King and ABC-TV's Deborah Roberts of "20/20" are among the judges for this year's awards. The "Stand On A Better World" Awards celebrate women across North America who are making a positive impact in their communities or the world at large.

The program offers four award categories for 2007:

Local: Celebrates efforts from within a local neighborhood to across a single state or province.

National: Recognizes efforts that include more than one state or province, up to a national level.

Global: Honors outreach that extends beyond national borders.

"Your Better World" Award: For the first time, the public gets to vote. From Aug.15 to Sept. 7, log on to www.StandOnABetterWorld.com to cast a vote for the "Your Better World" Award.

Nominations are being accepted exclusively at www.StandOnABetterWorld.com from April 1 through Aug. 1, 2007. Log on to read about last year's finalists and nominate your hero.

One winner will be chosen in each award category, and one of those three will be the grand-prize recipient, receiving $25,000 for the charity of her choice. The other three category award recipients will each receive $10,000 for their chosen charities. Winners will be announced this October.
