Standing Room Only: 5th Annual Seminar by Marcel Media a Hit With Chicago Area Marketers

Google, Domino's Pizza and Marcel Media Shared Insights on Strategic Search, Social Marketing and Analytics

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - November 22, 2010) -  Marcel Media, a Chicago-based interactive marketing firm, hosted its 5th Annual Seminar to a record-breaking audience on November 9, 2010, at Chicago's Metropolitan Club in the Willis Tower. Over 120 marketers from the Chicago area attended "Tales from Search, Social and Beyond." The seminar featured industry leaders from Google and Domino's Pizza, as well as case studies from Marcel Media clients YourLabelsNOW and NorthShore University HealthSystem. The educational and interactive sessions showcased trends and best practices in search marketing, social media and analytics.

The morning began with host Kelly Cutler, CEO, Marcel Media "Navigating Social Media Trends," followed by Google's Kristen Nomura, furnishing an update on Search Funnels from the global search giant. Cutler then introduced insightful internet marketing case studies from and NorthShore University HealthSystem, respectively. The final high-energy presentation was provided by Ramon De Leon of Domino's Pizza, word-of-mouth marketing and social media phenom.

Those attending Cutler's "Navigating Social Media Trends" were able to add to their social marketing agenda including tasks to take their efforts in Facebook and Twitter to the next level. Some key takeaways from Cutlers presentation included applying analytics to your social media pages, and advanced social media monitoring tools.

As Manager of Search Analytics at Google, Nomura provided insight on new analytic tools from Google including details on Google Adwords new tool, Search Funnels

YourLabelsNOW's Liz Hagopian presented the case study, "User Experience is King: Creating an E-Commerce Site" featuring details on how her organization increased sales by more than 200% over the course of the last year.

Grant Gannon of NorthShore University HealthSystems presented "Extreme Measures: Website Performance," a case study which illustrated a successful web redesign, with an integrated Facebook and Twitter outreach program.

The final presentation of the morning line-up featured Chicago's high energy Domino's Pizza Operating Partner, Ramon De Leon. De Leon shared his passion for using word of mouth marketing and social media, providing a variety of entertaining examples of how he's used new media such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook to create his own following and "brand" within the Domino's brand. One great takeaway he suggested was creating a Twitter hashtag for all of your products and services.
