Star In The Hood Clothing Launches Into JD Stores

MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Oct. 27, 2010) - Having established itself as a major player in the world of street fashion, Star In The Hood clothing is now on sale in one of the UKs biggest high street retailers after striking a deal with JD Sports. The deal will put selected items from the new collection in selected JD stores across the UK and online from today.

Tinchy Stryder, the biggest selling British male solo artist of 2009, music industry mogul and now fashion entrepreneur, has launched the first bona-fide urban clothing collection from a UK artist. Proving that "British Urban music need no longer look jealously at the US" (The Times). Known as Star In The Hood, the collection is all about classic yet stylish t-shirts and hoodies for both men and women.

The clothing is designed with input from Tinchy himself, making sure the collection stays true to its original concept and establishes itself as the dominant force in street fashion. Although designed as street fashion, the new collection takes influence from the likes of Armani, Levis and Gucci.

This October Star In The Hood clothing takes a major step towards spreading the brand way beyond its East London roots. Tinchy and his people have reached a deal with the number one sports fashion retailer in the UK, JD Sports, to have Star In The Hood products stocked online and at selected JD stores.

"JD is somewhere I have shopped for my clothes and trainers for years" states Tinchy. "To know that the brand I started in my bedroom back in 2007 is now available in JD stores across the country is a dream."

JD currently has over 400 stores across the UK and Europe, so the deal represents a fantastic opportunity for both parties. Not bad for a brand that only a couple of years ago consisted entirely of t-shirts sold on eBay.

To celebrate the launch, JD are giving its customers the chance to meet Tinchy Stryder at in store appearances at The Bull Ring in Birmingham on 5th November at 4pm and at Manchester's Arndale Centre on 18th November at 4pm. JD customers can also win tickets to a secret Tinchy Stryder event taking place in London. The event will be an intimate one, with a strictly limited number of tickets available. As well as being involved in designing the new collection, Tinchy has still found time to write his third album 'Third Strike' which is released 29th November.
