Star Navigation Supports U.N. Climate Conference on Green-House Gas Reductions

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 11, 2016) - Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SNA) (OTCBB:SNAVF) ("Star" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that during the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21), world leaders hammered out an agreement aimed at stabilizing the climate and avoiding the worst impacts of climate change.

The recent COP21 agreement has set the course for worldwide efforts to reduce green-house gas emissions. These efforts will be deployed though all nations, all organizations and all industries, including commercial aviation, which today accounts for 2% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), has already been working on carbon reduction programs for its member states, setting goals for the industry and, will soon be unveiling new plans for 2016, including the use of market-purchased carbon offsets for airlines.

The main focus of industry efforts has been on new fuel efficient engines, and on systems that will contribute to less fuel burn for the newest aircraft coming off the production lines.

The Company's STAR-A.D.S. ® system addresses the existing, in-service, fleet of aircraft. The system, is compatible with any of the thousands of commercial aircraft flying today. It continuously monitors all phases of flight and down-loads to the operator all relevant data on fuel burn. Compatible with all existing IT and operations infrastructure, the system requires no major capital investment on the ground.

The STAR-A.D.S. ® data flow gives immediate information on critical systems fuel burn and usage (such as engines and APU), together with operations procedures impacts (from taxiing, climb and cruise, and descent). The system automatically builds a data base that facilitates drill-downs on key parameters and indicators for a viable fuel monitoring and savings program.
