Star-P Goes Global With Expanding Solution Partner Program

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - April 22, 2008) - Businesses and organizations using high performance computing across the globe now have new professional experts and resources for help in tackling their parallel computing challenges.

Interactive Supercomputing (ISC) has significantly expanded its roster of value-added resellers (VARs) to meet rising international demand for its Star-P® parallel computing platform. The company now has 16 partners crossing the globe with the expertise, hardware/software and integration capabilities needed to make scientists, analysts and engineers more productive using Star-P and high performance computers.

The company's Star-P Solution Partner Program enables VARs, independent software vendors, systems integrators and consultants to combine other HPC products and services with Star-P to deliver a complete solution to customers while maximizing their return on investment. The program has recently expanded to include new partners serving the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, India, Korea, China, Japan, Israel, Italy, Greece, Spain, Canada and Australia.

Star-P is software that delivers interactive parallel computing power to the desktop. It enables faster prototyping and problem solving across a range of security, intelligence, manufacturing, energy, biomedical, financial and scientific research applications. Star-P enables scientists, analysts and engineers to easily code algorithms using their familiar desktop environment, automatically transforming the application to run on parallel servers and clusters. It eliminates the need to re-program the applications in complex languages such as C, FORTRAN or MPI (message passing interface) to run in parallel.

"Star-P has taken off globally and is quickly becoming the de-facto standard software platform for connecting desktop applications to parallel systems," said David Gibson, ISC's vice president of business development. "This growth involves a community of international partners with expertise in all aspects of science, engineering and analytical research and operations. The Star-P Solution Partner Program lets us team with companies whose products and services help make users who are working on large and complex technical problems to be much more productive and faster in their time-to-discovery."

Star-P Solution Partners benefit from a close working relationship with ISC. The program helps partners by funding lead generation campaigns and by offering selling, marketing and technical tools, along with support services, to assist in customizing solutions for customers.

Companies currently participating in the program include:
