Star Petroleum Corp.: Engineers Fine Tuning Commercial Test Unit

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - March 24, 2006) - On behalf of Star Petroleum Corp. (PINK SHEETS:SPMP) (the "Company") President Rod Burns, P. Eng., reports that following operational tests of the Low Profile Fluid Catalytic Cracker ("LPFCC") at the end of last year by the developers of the Technology, the unit is being prepared for continued commercial evaluation. Engineers at Process Innovators ("PII") are fine-tuning the Commercial Unit in order to facilitate continuous operation.

Jim Vemich, President of PII, said "we continue to see a high level of interest in the operating characteristics of the LPFCC versus conventional technology. In particular, the lower capital cost of the LPFCC and the high local cat-to-oil ratios have continued to generate attention from companies both in the oil refining business and the catalyst supply business."

"We are very encouraged by the results of the most recent commercial testing and by the very high level of interest this new technology is generating," said Mr. Burns. "This project remains a primary focus for our company as we see opportunities for global applications of the technology within the industry and for commercial marketing of the process in the very near future," he continued.
