CHERRY HILL, NJ--(Marketwired - December 27, 2013) - Over 100 Starbucks in the Southern New Jersey/ Pennsylvania region partnered with Go4theGoal to support their Adopt a Family program. Employees and customers of Starbucks worked together to fulfill the holiday wish lists of 25 families with children battling cancer at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Volunteers and Go4theGoal staff worked through the weekend to wrap the gifts and have them delivered in time for Christmas.
"This was the first year we've taken this program outside of our organization," said Beth Stefanacci, Founding Director of Go4theGoal. "We were a little nervous about the success, as we had very lofty goals and many families in need. There was such an outpouring of support from not only Starbucks' employees, but also their patrons that we were not only able to fulfill the wish lists of all the families, but also give over $1,000.00 in gift cards to both hospitals to share with patients that are stuck in the hospital during the holidays."
Thanks to the success of this year's program, Go4theGoal and Starbucks of Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey are already looking forward to partnering again in 2014 to continue bringing smiles and joy to children with cancer and their families during the holidays.
