SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - December 19, 2016) - The Starr Conspiracy (TSC), a strategic marketing and advertising firm specializing in enterprise software and service companies, is proud to announce that its public relations practice leader, Tony Spangler, is now accredited in public relations by the Universal Accreditation Board.
Spangler, TSC's director of communications and practice leader for TSC's public relations and analyst relations services, earned the designation as an APR through the Public Relations Society of America - demonstrating his personal drive, professional expertise, ethical commitment, and dedication to lifelong learning. The APR represents not only an individual's expertise, but the proven ability to act as a leader in their field.
"Clients of our agency have known for a long time that Tony is an experienced and effective practitioner in the public relations and analyst relations arena, and now he has the credentials to back his years of results," said Steve Smith, TSC partner and chief of the The Starr Conspiracy Intelligence Unit (TSCIU).
The accreditation program aims to improve the practice of public relations by assessing competence in 60 areas of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with the profession. Candidates who successfully complete the rigorous process, including presenting their portfolio to a readiness review panel of three APR peers and sitting for a computer-based examination, are granted the APR.
"Practitioners who achieve the [APR] designation are those who demonstrate a commitment not only to their profession, but also to a strong code of ethics and to the betterment of their organizations and clients," said Elizabeth S. McMillan, APR, 2016 chair of the Universal Accreditation Board.
Professionals earning the APR must maintain their credential through continuing professional development, proving leadership to the profession, and serving their local communities.
