Stars For A Cause Raises $112,400 for American Red Cross Haitian Relief at Charity Auction of Celebrity-Autographed Chrysler 300 "Haiti"

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - February 25, 2010) - Stars For A Cause, in collaboration with the Chrysler Brand, was proud to auction off a Chrysler 300 "Haiti" edition signed by hundreds of celebrities to benefit the American Red Cross Haitian Relief Fund on Saturday, February 20. This one-of-a-kind vehicle auction generated $112,400 ($100,000 from bidders, $10,000 from Leake, $2,400 from attendees) at the Leake Auction Company's annual collector car auction in Oklahoma City.

The successful bidders were Marty Robertson, of Evolution Custom Auto in Arlington, TX, and Richard Freeman, of Elite Motor Sports in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. "We have been very blessed in our lives and in our businesses. Fortunately we are in a position to help, so we decided to step up," stated Richard Freeman. "We are issuing a challenge to everyone out there to step-up and do their part to help in some way. Right now, we do not know what we are going to do with this car! We purchased this car because of the important cause it represents."

"This was a very special auction with the addition of the Chrysler 300 'Haiti,'" stated Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company. "Eager crowds gathered each day just to see this car. We were thrilled to partner with Stars For A Cause, Chrysler and the American Red Cross to raise money for such an important cause. While the Chrysler was being auctioned, a box was passed around to collect cash donations. $2,400 was donated. People have really opened their hearts to help Haiti. Leake Auction Company was honored to do our part."

With the $10,000 buyer's premium donated by Leake Auction Company, the total amount that will be presented to the American Red Cross Haitian relief fund is $112,400 (100% to ARC and 100% from ARC to Haiti relief).

"The Chrysler brand would like to thank the winning bidders of the Chrysler 300, Richard Freeman and Marty Robertson, for the generosity expressed to the American Red Cross Haiti relief efforts," said Olivier Francois, President and CEO - Chrysler brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "We'd also like to thank the kind group of people at Leake Auto Auction for their unwavering support and Stars For A Cause for their coordination efforts related to this auction."

"Leake Auction Company, the generous bidders, the Hollywood celebrities who autographed the vehicle, and the wonderful people in attendance at the Leake auction, all demonstrated the great American spirit of charitable giving for the people of Haiti in their time of need," added George Braunstein, President of Stars For A Cause, a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.
