Start Technologies Research Study Reveals How Low Emission Zones (LEZs) Will Drive Sales in Europe

("Start Technologies"), is the exclusive manufacture of a patent-pending fuel-conditioning technology that reduces fuel consumption and polluting emissions, while increasing vehicle mileage and engine horsepower.

The Company is pleased to report that it expects that commercial and government trucking fleets will increasingly turn to the Company's Start Fuel Efficiency and Emission Device (FEED) to overcome stiff government Low Emission Zones (LEZs) regulations.

European LEZs are areas where there are strict government controls regarding the emission standards that must be met before entering the region. Most LEZs are urban centers where the number of vehicles pose a threat to air quality of the citizens. Vehicles that exceed the low emission standards and generate air pollution are banned or are required to pay a fee to enter the LEZs.

Vehicle emissions are classified by the "Euro Standards". There are five different categories; ranging from Euro 1 to Euro 5, representing increasingly strict standards for emission quality.

Commercial trucks and buses - particularly vehicles with diesel engines - can significantly improve their ratings using the Start FEED unit, significantly increasing the number of LEZs in which they can operate. For fleet vehicles, the reduction in particulate emissions would seem to outweigh the important benefits of extended mileage and improved power that FEED devices have been proven to generate.

Start FEED Units and the European Market

The Company was recently recognized by DEKRA for the effectiveness of Start FEED unit in reducing emissions and improving a trucks "Euro-rating".

DEKRA concluded that fitting a vehicle with a Start FEED unit typically improves tailpipe emissions by 2 classes under the Euro standard ranking system, thus moving a Euro 3 rated vehicle up to the highest category, a Euro 5.

In 2011, the Company Start Fuel Efficiency and Emission Device was approved for sale in the European Union (EU), having passed the EU's technical and safety tests and receiving product certification. The Company currently has approval for the Start FEED unit in Italy, Germany, France and Switzerland and is currently awaiting approval in other EU countries.

The Company received their homologation certification under the EU's electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Directives 95/54/CE and 72/245/CEE. The EU homologation certification of the Start FEED unit was granted based on tests conducted by Italy's ELASIS research center, which is the research arm of auto giant Fiat Group and an EU-approved homologation testing facility.
