State University of New York Upgrades SUNYSAT to Enhance Subscriber Services

Upgrades Managed by TBC Integration Include Irdeto's Content Security Solution

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 20, 2007 -- Satellite 2007 -- Irdeto, the proven expert in content security for digital TV, IPTV and mobile, today announced that the largest comprehensive public higher education system in the nation, The State University of New York (SUNY), has upgraded its broadcast transmission network, SUNYSAT, with the Irdeto Digital TV content security solution. The upgrade, which was provided and integrated by California-based TBC Integration, also includes digital video compression and multiplexing products by Scopus Video Networks as well as set-top boxes by Coship Electronics.

The State University of New York utilizes the SUNYSAT system to deliver video-based education to students throughout the 64-campus network. SUNYSAT also provides important satellite broadcast services to Executive Chamber, the NY State Legislature and many NY State agencies.

The SUNYSAT upgrade calls for the addition of new set-top boxes to be deployed at SUNY campuses and other locations throughout the State of New York. The 24/7, fully integrated system features programs from SUNY campuses, as well as channel configuration for programming from around the world, including news and information, cultural programs, such as theater and the arts, education, sports, entertainment and more.
