OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 8, 2016) - Prime Minister's Office

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the Vietnamese New Year:

"Vietnamese communities in Canada and around the world will come together this week to celebrate Tet, known as the Lunar New Year. This year marks the arrival of the year of the Monkey.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Canadians of Vietnamese origin for the important contributions they make to our country every day. Your vibrant community is an example of Canadian diversity, one of our country's greatest strengths.

"On behalf of our family, Sophie and I wish all those celebrating Tet a year filled with prosperity, health, and joy."
