Statement by the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Occasion of the 2011 Grammy Awards

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 14, 2011) - Talented Canadian artists continue to make their mark around the world. Our Government is proud of all our Canadian artists, who continue to prove themselves to be among the best.

As Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages and on behalf of all Canadians, I heartily congratulate Arcade Fire, from Montréal, on being awarded the Grammy for Album of the Year (The Suburbs) and Neil Young, a Canadian icon, on being recognized for the Best Rock Song ("Angry World"). Congratulations, as well, to Michael Bublé on his win in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category for Crazy Love.

Finally, I add my voice to the many across Canada in honouring gospel singer George Beverly Shea, the most recent Canadian recipient of a Grammy Award for lifetime achievement.
