New Business Unit Aims to Deepen Company's Engagement Within Team Operations

NORTHBROOK, IL--(Marketwire - September 27, 2010) -  STATS LLC, the world's leading sports technology, information and content provider, announced today the hiring of John Pollard to lead the company's newly created Sports Solutions Group. Mr. Pollard will serve as General Manager of this entity which will deliver specialized solutions for front-office, coaching and scouting personnel across multiple sports in both the professional and collegiate ranks.

"John brings a unique blend of technology product innovation, user experience and subject matter expertise that will allow our clients to derive even more value from STATS' unique content. Our objective is to enhance STATS' position as a value added partner by creating the next generation of sports information services," said Gary Walrath, CEO at STATS.

The Sports Solutions Group will leverage two of STATS' most compelling assets -- its revolutionary SportVU player tracking technology and rich X-Info data. SportVU collects real-time motion and positioning (X, Y, Z) data for every player on the field, as well as the ball, using computer vision cameras. All aspects of the data collection process are completely non-intrusive to game action. SportVU is currently available for soccer, football and basketball, with applications in development for cricket and baseball.

STATS' X-Info provides the deepest and most innovative data valued by teams, such as burned defenders and yards after catch for football or pitch type, velocity and location information for baseball. STATS will bring coaching and player evaluation to a new level by tying STATS X-Info and SportVU tracking data to video.
