STEALTHbits Raises $14,000 for Make-a-Wish Foundation

HAWTHORNE, NJ--(Marketwired - Mar 4, 2015) - STEALTHbits Technologies Inc., a leading data security company that ensures the right employees have the right access to the right information, announced today that company employees have raised $14,000 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation after an internal campaign and the company's matching funds.

The effort began in the STEALTHbits sales organization when Hawthorne sales team members were "fined" one dollar a day for dressing casually, and the proceeds were to be donated to a charity chosen by a vote of the sales team. One of the options was the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and when Julie Muns, STEALTHbits' Sales Operations Manager, heard that, she had a personal interest in the vote outcome. "My daughter is a 'Wish' child," explained Julie, "and we have another employee here that is also the parent of a Wish child. I lobbied Ed (Hand, VP of Sales) to vote for the Make-a-Wish option, and when he learned there were two Wish children in our small company, immediately announced the result of the 'voting,' and Make-a-Wish somehow came out on top."

The campaign quickly spread to the entire STEALTHbits organization, and Company Founder Steve Cochran offered to match the collective donations, eventually bringing the total to $14,000.

The final step was for the STEALTHbits team was to pick the wish they would fund, and it was hard to resist 11-year-old Molly. Battling brain cancer, Molly dreamed of a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas. She wants to swim with the dolphins.

Thanks to her new friends at STEALTHbits, she'll do so in June.
