STEELBACK EMPLOYEES START PETITION TO STOP UNION. AGAIN.

Attention: Business/Financial Editor, Food/Beverage Editor, Media Editor, News Editor TIVERTON ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 29, 2005) - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUGUST 25, 2005

STEELBACK BREWERY EMPLOYEES START PETITION TO STOP UNION. AGAIN.

Employees of Steelback Brewery have organized a petition for the SEIU (Service Employees International Union) to cease and desist its efforts of starting a union at the Tiverton, Ontario based brewery. The very same employees the SEIU claims to be defending have resoundingly said "no" again to the union who has undertaken a vicious smear campaign against their livelihood. Adding that this petition was organized at the worker level and in no way was influenced by Steelback management.

"As employees of Steelback Brewery we are all aware of the events of the past month with the union certification attempt." Sue Bradley employee representative went on to say. "At the same time we do not agree with the vicious attacks on our company and the products that we produce. This in no way aids in the effort of improving working conditions."

Employees are furious at the union for attempting to vilify their workplace, their management, and more importantly their product and want it to stop. "Discouraging sales of our product especially when we are so new and have not had a chance to build up a loyal following could be devastating. We want to send a message to the union that we want them to back off and let the labour board and the legal process do its job."
