Stellar Pharmaceuticals Named to 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 List

LONDON, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 21, 2005) - Stellar Pharmaceuticals Inc. ("Stellar") (TSX VENTURE:SLX)(OTCBB:SLXCF), a Canadian pharmaceutical developer and marketer of high quality, cost-effective products for select health care markets, today announced that it has been ranked the 200th fastest growing technology company in North America on the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list. Stellar was one of 53 Canadian companies included in the list, which noted the Company's 805% revenue growth over the past five years.

Companies entering the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 must be headquartered in North America and must be a "technology company," defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. The Fast 500 list is compiled from Deloitte's 15 regional North American Fast 50 lists, nominations submitted directly to the Fast 500, and public company database research. To qualify for the Fast 500, entrants must have had 2000 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD or $75,000 CD for the United States and Canada, respectively, and 2004 operating revenues of at least $1 million USD or CD.

"This is a very exciting and important recognition for us," noted Peter Riehl, Stellar's President and Chief Executive Officer. "This acknowledgement is a testament to the growing customer acceptance of our products, the hard work and dedication of Stellar's employees and the unwavering support of our partners."
