HOLLYWOOD, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 24, 2011) - Stereo Vision Entertainment Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SVSN) announced today the signing of an exclusive worldwide license agreement for Stereo 3D technology that will reduce 3D bandwidth and storage requirements by an average of 40% to 60% with no loss of resolution. The patent pending technology applies to all forms of professional and consumer digital stereo 3D production, storage, delivery, and reception equipment, including computers, tablets, television sets, 3D cameras, smart phones, editing systems, projectors, interactive 3D games, and Internet download services.
"This game changing 3D technology was designed by a team of inventors who have more than 200 U.S. and Foreign patents between them," said Stereo Vision's CEO Jack Honour. "Robert S. Block (Bob), one of the inventors, became a Stereo Vision principal partner through the acquisition of REZN8. (Click here: Stereo Vision Completes REZN8 Acquisition Effective 12/31/2010) The list of companies that have licensed the team's previous inventions reads like a who's who of the media and technology industries with companies like Sony, Motorola, and DirecTV leading the way. Our pursuit of this endeavor is driven by our continued effort to add shareholder value. This technology complements our core business strategy of 3D digital content production, acquisition, and distribution."
Stereo Vision's new proprietary 3D technology will make it possible for cable, satellite, broadcast, Internet, and mobile service providers to deliver S3D content using about half the storage and download time as was previously needed for 3D with no loss of resolution. The SV technology will also enhance and improve S3D capture and delivery hardware. SV believes this new 3D technology has the potential of becoming a global standard for S3D systems.
Beyond the S3D applications, the new SV technology will also significantly enhance "Look Around 3D," where computer video objects can be manipulated and rotated by viewers for full 3D observation and interaction. The combination of S3D and the Look Around 3D capability will usher in an abundance of new opportunities for the 3D industry in entertainment, education, medicine, and military training.
