3,000+ Registered Attendees, Including Startup Founders and Media Executives, Converging in Lower Manhattan for Major Media Festival

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - September 24, 2015) - New York Media Festival (NYME), the annual four-day event, produced by Digital Media Wire and Empiricly, featuring conferences on games, music, video, innovation and start-ups as well as city-wide open houses, receptions and parties, today announces appearance by media pioneer and investor, Steve Case, on the Innovation Stage at the event on Oct. 8. The conferences and Innovation Summit take place at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Battery Park, Oct. 7-Oct. 9. Additionally, business leaders and other influencers will mix with startup founders and tech innovators in conference tracks, breakout sessions and lightning talks focused on the newest innovations in cutting edge media technology.

As Chairman and CEO of Revolution, a Washington, D.C.-based investment firm, Case partners with visionary entrepreneurs to launch significant “built to last” businesses. Revolution has backed more than 30 companies, including: sweetgreen, Zipcar, Revolution Foods, LivingSocial, Bigcommerce and Optoro. Case’s entrepreneurial career began in 1985 when he co-founded America Online (AOL) and later he managed the largest merger in media history with Time Warner. Since then, he was named the founding chair of the Startup America Partnership -- an effort launched at the White House to accelerate high-growth entrepreneurship throughout the nation. He also served as founding co-chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and a member of President Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, where he chaired the subcommittee on entrepreneurship. In 2014, Steve was named a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship.

"We’re thrilled to host Steve Case at the inaugural New York Media Festival," said Ned Sherman, CEO of Digital Media Wire and co-creator/chair of NYME. "As one of the most recognized and successful entrepreneurs, investors, and businessmen of our times, Steve’s relentless focus on social change and the start-up economy are in line with our belief that innovation is needed to address the challenges facing the media industry today and will shape consumer experiences and businesses of the future."

In addition to the many keynotes, talks and panels featuring Case and other leading media executives, NYME has selected a group of innovative media technology startups to present on-stage during the three-day Innovation Summit.

"After a selective application process, we’re happy to announce our selection of start-ups companies that will have the opportunity to pitch their business models to peers and investors at the Innovation Summit," said Michael Gold, CEO of Empiricly and co-creator/chair of the Innovation Summit at NYME.
