Steve McConnell Joins LiquidPlanner's Board of Advisors

Software Development and Project Estimation Luminary to Help Guide On-Demand Project Management Company

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - March 10, 2008) - LiquidPlanner, the industry's first on-demand project management solution that helps manage project uncertainty, today announced that Steve McConnell, founder of Construx Software and a noted author of numerous books on software development and project management, has joined LiquidPlanner's board of advisors. Mr. McConnell joins long-time entrepreneur Mr. Bill Bryant, Mr. Murat Divringi of Planario, Inc., and Mr. Barney Harford, former President of Expedia, Asia Pacific, on the advisory board. Together, these business and technology veterans will provide LiquidPlanner with strategic guidance, product development expertise, and management leadership.

"As more companies embrace agile development methodologies, it will be imperative that they incorporate the principles of uncertainty into their project estimation practices," said Steve McConnell, president of Construx Software. "By combining ranged estimates with an underlying probabilistic scheduling engine, the LiquidPlanner service has great potential to help project managers and software developers deliver promise dates that are based on statistically valid principles."

Mr. McConnell has authored numerous books on software development practices, including: "Software Estimation: Demystifying the Black Art," "Code Complete," "Rapid Development," "Software Project Survival Guide," and "Professional Software Development." His first two books won Software Development magazine's Jolt Excellence award for best programming books of their years. Steve has worked in the desktop software industry since 1984 and has expertise in rapid development methodologies, project estimation, software construction practices, and third-party contract management. In 1998, readers of Software Development magazine named Steve one of the three most influential people in the software industry along with Bill Gates and Linus Torvalds. Steve was Editor in Chief of IEEE Software magazine from 1998-2002.

"Steve McConnell's writings on project estimation have served as both an inspiration to our executive team as well as a foundation for the LiquidPlanner service, so we are absolutely thrilled to have him join our board of advisors," said Charles Seybold, CEO and co-founder of LiquidPlanner. "For a company as young as LiquidPlanner, we feel quite fortunate to have secured such a well rounded board of advisors who together provide an important sounding board as we bring our service to market following a very successful launch at the DEMO conference."
