StillSecure Safe Access to Support, Enhance, and Extend Cisco NAC and Microsoft NAP Integration

Safe Access to Provide Critical Functionality for NAC/NAP Interoperability

SUPERIOR, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 15, 2006 -- StillSecure®, provider of an award-winning, integrated suite of enterprise network security solutions, today announced that Safe Access™, the industry's most powerful, flexible network access control (NAC) solution, provides extended functionality to the joint Cisco NAC/Microsoft NAP solution. Safe Access will fulfill critical health agent, health enforcement, and policy creation roles by offering deeper policy definition, and multiple testing and enforcement options. Using Safe Access in conjunction with the NAC/NAP framework helps customers better realize the full benefits of the combined environment.

"StillSecure Safe Access provides best-of-breed network access control whether deployed in standalone mode or in conjunction with any of the several industry frameworks that it supports," said Andrew Braunberg, Senior Analyst, Current Analysis. "Safe Access is well positioned in a crowded market because of its purpose-built NAC engine, flexible combination of testing and enforcement methods, and rich policy definition capabilities."

Safe Access' support for industry standards uniquely positions it to work separately within each framework or in concert to bring the full benefits of network access control. By utilizing both the NAP agent and the NAC enforcement standards, Safe Access allows administrators to test for hundreds of off-the-shelf tests, well beyond the testing and policy definition options offered in the standalone NAC/NAP environment. Furthermore, Safe Access provides an opportunity to deploy network access control in environments that aren't exclusively based on Cisco and Microsoft by adding inline, endpoint-based, 802.1x, and DHCP methods of enforcement.

"We have been looking forward to Cisco and Microsoft delivering on their promise of interoperability so that we can show the critical role that Safe Access can play in the NAC/NAP scenario," said Mitchell Ashley, CTO and VP customer experience of StillSecure. "We are firmly committed to supporting and enhancing industry-supported frameworks such as NAC, NAP, and the Trusted Computing Group's Trusted Network Connect. Safe Access brings unique, powerful functionality that complements all of these standards."

Pricing and availability

StillSecure Safe Access enhanced NAC/NAP functionality will be available in time for the NAC/NAP integration, scheduled to coincide with the release of Microsoft Windows Server Longhorn in the second half of 2007. Safe Access is available on an annual, fixed-cost subscription basis or through a purchase-plus-maintenance model based on the number of total users. Both options include all standard security tests and test updates, software upgrades, and engineer-delivered technical support.
