Stipple Introduces Want, the Universal Wish List and Shopping Cart for the Web

Research and Save What You Want in Web-Based Photos

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - May 3, 2011) - Stipple, a San Francisco-based technology company, today introduced Want, a universal wish list and personal shopper for products contained inside editorial images. Want gives consumers a new way to discover, shop for, and save the things they love in editorial images on any website.

Stipple Want is activated when users mouse over products contained in editorial photos and save products to their list. Want provides product information, price watching, deals and the opportunity for users to purchase a product directly from the photo.

"With Want, Stipple gives web audiences a single tool to shop and bookmark any product, inside any photo, on any web site," said Rey Flemings, Stipple co-founder and CEO. "Stipple Want keeps users' favorite products in one place for easy shopping and sharing."

Want is designed to provide accurate product information, not 'get the look' spam. Want is also non-intrusive and activated only when users save products. Want is completely user-initiated and activated by tactile search -- audiences mouse over specific products in photos and those products reveal Want.

There are many interesting editorial images on the web, but up until now there has been no way to find out more about the people, places and things in those photos. Stipple makes it possible for people to discover accurate information about the content of photos.

Stipple Want is part of the Stipple product ecosystem announced today that also includes Lens, Pipeline and Network. Lens creates new revenue streams for photo agencies from their editorial image content. Lens licenses more than 100,000 editorial images per month from top photo agencies, including Abaca USA, Admedia, Buzz Foto, PictureGroup, Sipa, Starmax, Startraks and Zuma, among others. Pipeline enables brands to promote and sell their products through editorial images containing those products. More than 50 leading brands are using Pipeline today. Network syndicates search and shopping information to nationally distributed editorial images and gives publishers the ability to label the people, places, and things contained in their custom images. More than 1,300 publishers are a part of Network today.
