Stoke and Macnica Networks Provide Mobile Broadband Gateways to Japan's SOFTBANK MOBILE

Next Generation Gateway to Help Softbank Serve the Growing Traffic Demands of Data-Centric Mobile Customers

SANTA CLARA, CA and SHIN-YOKAHAMA, JAPAN--(Marketwired - Sep 17, 2013) - Leading LTE Security Gateway supplier Stoke, Inc. and advanced network systems integrator Macnica Networks announced today that they have been selected by Japan's SOFTBANK MOBILE (Softbank) to provide Stoke's SSX-3000 gateway in its small cell mobile broadband network. The solution will enhance Softbank's ability to secure the increasing levels of traffic on their all-IP mobile broadband network while maintaining high levels of performance and service to its customers.

"As one of the country's leading mobile communications providers, Softbank is committed to staying ahead of escalating traffic demand and delivering the highest quality of performance and security to subscribers," said Masahiro Miyabukuro, President of Macnica Networks. "Stoke is a leader in radio to core security solutions for the RAN-to-Core network border, and we are pleased to provide their high-performance SSX-3000 gateway for Softbank."

The Softbank project builds on recent Stoke wins in Western Europe and marks Stoke's fourth project in Japan, in two of the nation's major mobile operators.

In Japan's dynamic mobile broadband market, Softbank continues to innovate and introduce differentiated services for its customers. Stoke's SSX-3000 supports Softbank's strategy of delivering service at the levels customers expect while keeping costs under control and ensuring the security of mobile traffic.

The Stoke SSX-3000 is a leading gateway solution securing communications for more than 10 million subscribers world-wide. It enables mobile operators to deploy an efficient, stand-alone security perimeter fronting their mobile Core networks. With Small-Cell deployments raising concerns about security, Stoke SSX-3000 assures confidentiality and integrity of data plane and control plane over an all-IP network, supporting communications without adding any appreciable latency or service-impacting packet processing burden on core network elements.

"Softbank is a fast moving and innovative competitor in Japan's mobile services marketplace and we are pleased to add them to our growing list of top tier carrier customers," said Vikash Varma, CEO of Stoke. "We are privileged to be a supplier to Softbank through Macnica, and look forward to a successful and expanding relationship in Japan, and other key markets like the United States of America."
