Stoke Records Increased Traction for LTE Security Gateway, Provides Security Gateway Benchmark for Small Cell Plugfest in Europe

Current LTE Deployments and Expanding Volume of Engagements Spur Stoke to Intensify Strategies to Enhance Its Leadership in LTE Security Gateway

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 26, 2013) - As a result of significant growth in customer wins and commercial engagements across Europe, North and South America, and Asia, mobile broadband gateway supplier Stoke has intensified its strategic sales efforts with the objective of increasing its leadership in LTE security gateway solutions. As the volume of LTE rollouts accelerates, notably in Europe, the level of operator commitment to securing LTE communications from inception has dramatically increased.

As a result, Stoke has expanded its partner base in key markets, increased technical, post-sale deployment resources, and has increased its investment in development for the Stoke Security eXchange.

"In addition to new customer wins in 2013, we are engaged in a rapidly growing number of RFI and RFPs specifically for the Security eXchange," says Vikash Varma, CEO of Stoke. "With this tremendous opportunity unfolding, we have taken steps to align the company's focus to meet that opportunity, including expanding our deployment partner base, increasing R&D investment on Security eXchange, and growing our support resources in highly active markets."

2013 Activity and Milestones:

  • Stoke LTE security gateways supporting more than 10 million active subscribers
  • Doubled the number of active commercial deployment projects underway in Europe
  • Expanded LTE solution deployment support resources in Labs and personnel by 150%
  • Took a leadership role in the June ETSI / Small Cell Forum sponsored Small Cell Plugfest 2013; expanding Stoke's already broad eNodeB interoperability
  • Recently signed four new solution integrator partners in Europe, South East Asia, and Japan
  • Increased Security eXchange development and test team resources by 30%

LTE rollout and adoption continues to accelerate. Of the $9.8 billion spent on mobile infrastructure, nearly one third ($2.7B) was on LTE1. In addition, the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) reported in May, 2013 that LTE experienced a 5 fold increase in LTE subscriptions year-over-year, adding more than 21 million LTE subscribers in the first quarter 20132.
