Storm Copper Leverages the Long Tail of the Market

New Online Store Allows for Greater Efficiency and Elimination of Minimum Order Requirements and Expansion Into the Long Tail of the Copper and Connector Markets

DECATUR, TN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 30, 2007 -- Storm Copper Components Co., a fabricator of custom copper electrical connectors for power equipment manufacturers, has opened an e-commerce enabled website to better service customer needs. "While servicing the copper connector requirements of large original equipment manufactures has been our primary focus, we are well aware of the needs of smaller customers," said Carol Howard, President of Storm Copper Components Co. "Until the launch of our online store we needed to impose a large minimum order, which turned away many smaller customers. Our new e-commerce site allows us to process orders much more efficiently thereby allowing us to virtually eliminate the need for a minimum order amount."

The new website features product areas such as copper sheet and foil, copper bar, ground bars, punched copper bar, copper bar with threaded holes, cable assemblies and standoff insulators. Sheila Stone, Customer Service Manager at Storm Copper Components Co., explains, "Often a homeowner, electrical contractor, or artisan will need a short piece of copper bar or sheet. There just aren't that many suppliers willing to cut a full length copper bar or sheet for someone needing 12 inches of material. It is great to have products that are unique and traditionally difficult to locate."

A customer from San Jose, California, writes, "Thanks to you and the people at Storm Copper. I know I am small potatoes, but this is for a present for my daughter so it is important to me. I couldn't find a source for copper bar in California, either online or at a store. Again, you're a lifesaver."

Over 1,600 unique products are available for purchase on the e-commerce site. The majority of items offered are in stock and ship the next business day. Customers who have already purchased from the site include: manufacturers, design engineers, electrical contractors, hobbyists, interior decorators, home builders and craft artisans.
