ENFIELD, CT--(Marketwire - December 14, 2010) - Specialized Technology Resources, Inc.'s (STR) Quality Assurance division will present a free seminar during the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair on "Enhancing Consumer Protection - A Global Look at Regulations Impacting the Toy Industry" to provide manufacturers, retailers, and importers with an in-depth understanding of current and upcoming toy regulations in major markets around the world. The half-day seminar will be held on January 10, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (HKT) at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel in the Concord Room.
Attendees will receive the latest information on the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, including additional product safety requirements that will go into effect in 2011; an update on European chemical legislation, including new restrictions for certain substances and mixtures; an overview of EU Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC; and a look at the International Council of Toy Industries' Care Process, which aims to ensure safe and humane workplace environments for toy factory workers worldwide.
