Strait Gold Prepares Access for Summer Drill Program

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 13, 2007) - Strait Gold Corporation (TSX VENTURE:SRD)(TSX VENTURE:SRD.WT) is pleased to report that trail widening to allow access for a drill rig to its Culebrilla gold-silver property in Peru is near completion and drill pads are being prepared for a 2,000-metre drill program to be completed this summer.

A crew of 20 from the town of Ancoraca has made good progress widening the 6.3-km existing foot path from the village to the Company's base camp. The trail has been widened to approximately 1.5 metres, suitable for the passage of a man-portable drill rig and 4-wheel all-terrain vehicles.

Work on a further five kilometres of access roads from the camp to the drill sites is almost complete, and preparation of drill pads will commence soon. Camp improvements, including installation of a second Weatherhaven tent and additional electrical generating capacity, have also begun in anticipation of the drill program.

Field work on the Culebrilla property during the spring included in-fill soil sampling over the gold-soil anomalies 'A', 'B' and 'E' identified in last year's field program (January 22, 2007, news release). A total of 265 soil samples were collected on 50-metre spaced lines at 25-metre spaced stations. Samples were shipped to ALS Chemex laboratories in Lima Peru. Assays are pending.

Several regional anomalies identified in a stream sediment survey conducted in 2006 were also followed up this spring with reconnaissance prospecting and sampling. A total of 45 rock samples were collected for assay from various areas proximal to these anomalies. Samples were submitted to ALS Chemex labs in Lima Peru. Assays are pending.
