StrataLight Announces World's Smallest 40Gbps Module

The OTM-400 Offers the Field Proven StrataLight 40G/43G VSR Client Interface in the Industry's Smallest Form Factor

LOS GATOS, CA--(CCNMatthews - March 27, 2007) - StrataLight Communications, Inc., the global leader in 40 Gbps system deployment today introduced a new 40G/43G 300 pin MSA Optical VSR module, the OTM-400.

The OTM-400 is the next generation of 40G/43G VSR module and offers industry leading size and power consumption. StrataLight Communications has offered this client optical interface as part of the OTS-4000 product family of 40 Gbps DWDM sub-system transponders since 2004. StrataLight continues to lead the fast growing 40G market with wide scale carrier and OEM adoption of its products. The OTM-400 module is the newest addition to StrataLights' field proven carrier class 40G solution.

The module provides a serial 40/43Gbps optical interface for interconnection of OC-768, STM-256 and G.709 OTU-3 clients over distances up to 2km over single mode fiber. The OTM-400 is fully standards-compliant with the OIF SFI-5 electrical interface requirements and with the ITU-T G.693 optical interface specification. The package size of 4" x 5" is less than 60% of the current industry standard. Interoperability with Core Routers and DWDM system offering OC-768 has been extensively tested in many carrier laboratories and in live production networks.

The OTM-400 module will be available for sampling in May and generally available in July 2007.
