Strateco Requests Special Case Management of its Motion for Mandamus and Declaratory Judgement

BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 8, 2013) - Strateco Resources Inc. ("Strateco") (TSX:RSC)(FRANKFURT:RF9) announces that, further to its motion for mandamus and declaratory judgement (ref. news release dated January 17, 2013), it filed a motion on February 7, 2013, for special case management. Strateco has asked the Associate Chief Justice of the Quebec Superior Court to appoint a judge to oversee the proper conduct of the proceedings. This motion, which will be presented to the Associate Chief Justice on February 13, 2013, is aimed at ensuring that the proceedings are effectively managed and at facilitating the resolution of the matter. Strateco's motion will not be challenged.

The hearing scheduled for today in connection with the motion for mandamus and declaratory judgment has been postponed until February 15, 2013. Because of the Declaration of Intervention filed earlier this week in relation to this case, the statutory period granted to Strateco and the Attorney General of Quebec to set out their position on the stakeholders' motion has not yet expired; it will now expire on February 15, 2013.
