Strategic Development Investments Opens Triple Bottom Line Public Equity Products to Investors

Products Target Superior Returns While Investing in Socially and Environmentally Responsible Companies

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 14, 2008) - Strategic Development Investments, LLC (SDI) -- an independent investment adviser founded by equity fund specialist Deborah La Franchi -- today announced that its Triple Bottom Line (TBL) US Large Cap and International Equity products are open to outside investors through separately-managed accounts.

The investment products have the following Triple Bottom Line goals:

1st Bottom Line: Target returns superior to market benchmarks.

2nd Bottom Line: Invest in companies that are socially impactful.

3rd Bottom Line: Invest in companies that are environmentally responsible.

SDI's triple bottom line investment products are designed for institutional investors and high-net worth individuals who seek superior returns while investing in companies that are socially and environmentally responsible. SDI's core belief is that returns do not need to be sacrificed in order to achieve such an investment strategy.

Companies are selected based on social and environmental criteria, as well as a rigorous investment process that focuses purely on financial performance. Both the TBL US Large Cap and TBL International Equity products have a 12-month investment track record.

SDI's TBL products invest exclusively in companies rated "best in class" for their environmental and social practices. Ratings are determined by Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, a firm recognized internationally for its work in evaluating the environmental, social and strategic governance (ESG) issues of publicly-traded companies. SDI's TBL equity products invest in companies with a rating of "A" or higher.

From that universe of companies, SDI applies rigorous financial analysis using a proprietary quantitative investment process based on Arbitrage Pricing Theory (APT). The rigor and success of this process was recognized recently as SDI earned a PSN "Top Guns" 6-Star ranking for the 5-year risk-adjusted return of its traditional International Equity product. SDI's product was deemed a Top 10 performer from a universe of 266 firms and more than 800 investment products. The same rigorous financial analysis that earned SDI this prestigious ranking is applied to the firm's Triple Bottom Line products.

"SDI's strategy is based on the belief that investors can achieve superior returns while investing in companies that are environmentally and socially responsible," said SDI CEO Deborah La Franchi. "Our recent 'Top Guns' ranking reaffirms the strength of our investment process, and the 12-month performance of our Triple Bottom Line products demonstrates that SDI investors can 'do good and do well' at the same time."

All of SDI's public equity products are designed to meet the needs of institutional investors and high-net worth individuals, and can be tailored based on client preferences.

"Using SDI's proprietary financial analysis, we have engineered our Triple Bottom Line products to capitalize on our core belief that investors can achieve superior returns by investing in companies that are well run from a social and environmental perspective," added Ms. La Franchi.
