Strategic Mining Corp. (SMNG) Reports Strong Gold Assay Results at Prospective Acquisition

Head Rock Samples Collected at the Don Thanh Project in Northern Vietnam Yielded Gold Values Between 6 Grams Per Ton and 20.7 Grams Per Ton

NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(Marketwire - Feb. 14, 2011) - Strategic Mining Corporation (OTCQB:SMNG), a gold mining company focused on production in northern Vietnam, today reported strong assay results from head rock samples collected at the Dong Thanh gold property in northern Vietnam.

Strategic Mining announced on February 11, 2011 that it has entered formal negotiations with the government of Vietnam to acquire a 40-percent interest in Dong Thanh.

The samples, which were processed by ALS Chemex of Vancouver, returned gold values ranging from 6 grams per ton up to 20.7 grams per ton and silver values ranging from 0.8 grams per ton up to 8.3 grams per ton.

"We're very pleased with the results of the assay program," said Strategic Mining President Todd Sterck. "Based on the amount of gold detected in the samples, we intend to press forward with the negotiations we currently have in progress to acquire a 40-percent interest in the Dong Thanh property. Our objective is to substantially increase the mine's gold output through implementation of modern equipment and processes."

Five head-rock samples were collected at Don Thanh in early January 2011 by Mr. Sterck during a tour of the project at the invitation of the Vietnamese government.

Don Thanh is currently producing gold, but the project is underperforming due to its use of out-dated mining technologies and practices.

The site is located just 7 kilometers north of Strategic Mining's Nat Son gold property, about 50 kilometers south west of Hanoi.

According to a geological report written by consulting geologist Robert Marvin, both projects are situated on the same gold-bearing trend.
