Strathmore Adds to Powder River Basin Properties

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - July 11, 2005) - STRATHMORE MINERALS CORP. ("Company") (TSX VENTURE:STM) is pleased to announce that it has agreed to acquire 165 unpatented mining claims near the Company's previously leased PT Claims and PRB State Leases in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. The total acquired acreage is approximately 3,300 acres. The properties consist of several different claim groups located on known, drill indicated, uranium resources. Some of the properties were part of Rocky Mountain Energy's (Union Pacific Resources) Reno Creek Project, which was fully permitted for ISL production until the late 1990's. The new properties compliment previous Strathmore acquisitions in the area.

Strathmore will evaluate the newly acquired properties as to their potential for containing economically recoverable uranium via ISL production. Data and historical work is under acquisition and evaluation. All work was done before establishment of the 43-101 requirements.

Wyoming is home to over 200 million pounds of historical uranium production and is the second leading uranium producing State in the United States.

Subject to regulatory approval, the Company will issue 100,000 shares for the acquisition of the property.

STRATHMORE MINERALS CORP. is a Canadian based resource company specializing in the strategic acquisition and development of uranium properties. STRATHMORE MINERALS CORP. Common Shares are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol "STM".
