Strathmore Identifies 51-km Long MegaTEM II Geophysical Conductor at its Davy Lake Property in the Athabasca Basin of Northern Saskatchewan

KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 16, 2005) - Strathmore Minerals Corp. ("the company") (TSX VENTURE:STM) is pleased to announce that it has completed a MegaTEM II airborne geophysical survey on its Davy Lake Property, which encompasses 1.5 million acres within the north central portion of the Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan. The Davy Lake Property is the largest contiguous land package in the Athabasca Basin.

The MegaTEM II airborne geophysical survey was flown in two stages. The first stage consisted of five test lines, primarily to characterize the underlying basement rocks and to estimate depths to the unconformity. Favorable results prompted the completion of second stage over the balance of the property, which was then flown with east-west lines, spaced 1,200 m apart. A total of 6,290 line-kilometers were acquired over the Davy Lake Property.

A preliminary review of the geophysical data has shown the presence of a number of conductors, including a discrete conductor over 51 km in length. At various locations it appears to have been offset by cross-cutting structures, in particular a left lateral fault providing approximately 4 km of offset. For much of its length, the conductor is located within an area of relatively quiet magnetic background, implying underlying basement rocks of a metasedimentary character. The conductor's profile response indicates a deep and in places, broad source. In general within the Athabasca Basin, there is a clear spatial relationship between uranium deposits and graphitic rocks, which are expressed as conductors by the geophysical surveys.

Geophysical modeling is currently underway on this principal conductor to determine depth and geometry. In-fill airborne surveys are being planned to further delineate the newly discovered conductors prior to mounting a follow-up program of ground geophysics and geology.
